Straightforward, on purpose. Here's exactly what happens with your fee if a deal doesn't come together.
Your initial consultation is always free, with no obligation to continue. You'll never be charged just for talking to me about what you're looking for.
The $1,000 flat fee is due when you decide to move forward and I begin working your search — not as a percentage of the sale, and not after the fact. That lets me commit fully to your deal from day one, calling dealers and pulling numbers on your behalf right away.
If I haven't started working your deal yet, you can request a full refund — no questions asked.
Once I've started actively working your deal — contacting dealers, pulling numbers, negotiating on your behalf — the fee is no longer refundable. Each deal takes significant, real time regardless of how it ends, and that work has been put in whether or not you end up buying the car.
Plans change, and that's fine. If you decide mid-deal that you want a different vehicle entirely, I'm happy to pivot — but it does mean restarting sourcing and outreach around the new vehicle. A $250 change fee applies if you switch vehicles once work has begun.
Once you've closed on a vehicle I negotiated on your behalf, the fee has been earned for the work completed. That's the point at which the service has been fully delivered.
If you're in a specific situation this page doesn't clearly cover, just reach out directly at cody@mycaradvocate.com — I'd rather talk it through than leave you guessing.
The consultation is free. The $1,000 fee is due when we start. Once work begins, it's non-refundable — but switching to a different vehicle mid-deal is just a $250 change fee. Once you've purchased through me, the fee's earned. No surprises.
